3 Legs of the Quaddie…again! Take a Quaddie at Sandown this Saturday, and if you get the first 3 legs and 2nd in the last leg, IAS Bet will give you your money back!*

IAS Bet‘s own expert horse racing analyst, Gerard Twomey previews Saturday’s big races:

All eyes will be poised on ZIPPING to see if he can make the SANDOWN CLASSIC his again – for the 4th consecutive year. And with the ever genuine 9 year old in career best form, and so well placed at Weight For Age, another SANDOWN CLASSIC victory wouldn’t surprise. GINGA DUDE, coming off a great 3rd in the MacKinnon behind So You Think, appears to be the main danger. His victory in the Coongy two starts ago on a heavy also highlights his credentials – particularly is the forecast rain comes. MANIGHAR drops back to 2400m. Whilst Weight For Age conditions may not suit him, he certainly has a lot of upside.

SANDOWN GUINEAS – Group 2 1600m
PRESSDAY appears to be the nominal favourite. He took all before him over Brisbane’s Winter Carnival winning the TJ Smith and the Sires Produce. He failed in the Coolmore, missing the start by 6 lengths, and the question will be whether he is ready for 1600m 2nd up. CONDELAGO and GOLDSTONE have followed the traditional path of coming through the Carbine Club Stakes, and both looked primed for big runs, coming off placings in this race behind Mr Chard. BIGELOW appears to be the other contender, following an impressive last start victory – look for him to be finishing home late.

The inaugural running of the 3200m SANDOWN CUP over the Steeple Course promises to be an intriguing race. The formlines are strong with several coming off excellent runs in various Spring Carnival staying races. It is a great race, and we see several chances. ILLUSTRIOUS BLUE comes off a solid Melbourne Cup run, finishing in the first half of the field, and is proven at the 3200m. CAPECOVER and ABOVE AVERAGE have been threatening all Spring, following places in the Moonee Valley Cup, and 2nd and 5th respectively in last weeks’ Queen’s Cup. The Lexus and Lavazza Long Black formlines could also play a part in this fascinating race, with MACEDONIAN, IRAZU and MOURAYAN also posing threats. Great betting race.
