The 2012 Australian Open started today and for the next two weeks we’re fortunate to have the world’s best tennis players congregating at Rod Laver Arena, slugging it out in the hot Aussie sun.
The world’s best tennis players including Australia’s own Sam Stosur who recently defeated Serena Williams in the US Open and golden boy Bernard Tonic, also from Queensland. Check out what the bookmakers have their chances rated at below where I compare the odds from 3 of my favourite online bookies.
Can Nadal who has been under a cloud of injury, Federer who is not the player he once was, or England’s Andy Murray with his new coach and former champion Ivan Lendl defeat current world number 1, Novak Djokovic? Time will tell. Will there be some upsets? Of course, there always is. It’s about time to grab a cold one, place your bets and turn the TV on. All that’s left to do is enjoy Australia’s biggest tennis event of the year.

Live Australian Open Tennis Match Betting
One of the great things about betting through online bookmakers is the fact you can bet on the match winner while the game is in progress! This is called live or in-play betting and all the bookmakers I have reviewed offer this feature over the telephone.
Don’t ask me why, but there’s a law against live betting over the internet, but it’s fine over the phone. The internet uses telephone lines too, and of course your mobile phone probably has reasonable internet connectivity, there’s really not much difference between the two. Nevertheless, I don’t make the laws, I’m just a regular punter so I’ll make the extra effort to pick up my phone if I see an opportunity for arbitrage.
Good Luck, and Happy Punting!
