2014 FIFA World Cup Soccer Betting Odds

As per usual, the heavyweight soccer nations are favoured to take out the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Host nation Brazil is the shortest price to win outright, while Argentina, Germany and Spain are all paying single figures to win the World Cup outright.

The young Aussie Socceroos are paying up to $1,501 to win outright but no serious punters would bet on them to win the tournament. However, they could sneak a draw or possibly cause a major upset and win one of their Group matches which will be paying very juicy odds.

Unfortunately they don’t have it easy, with their group containing Spain, Netherlands and Chile, all of which are in the top dozen or so chances to win the 2014 World Cup. Just how far can coach Ange Postecoglou take this young Australian team? We’re all eagerly awaiting the matches to see if choosing such a young side and emitting some of our more experienced players pays dividends or not. I wish them the best of luck and I’m sure the majority of Australians do too.

Tips for betting on the 2014 FIFA World Cup

It’s hard to go past the home team Brazil if you’re looking for an outright winner but I don’t see value at $4. Germany won’t be this short again I wouldn’t expect and they are every chance to win. Another tip I have is to check out the other betting markets available, there’s a huge variety markets to choose from when betting on soccer and you will often find some delicious odds available for various bets.

Some examples are the highest scoring game out of all the group matches, the top goalscorer for each team or overall, bet on the time a goal will happen, the first team to score, whether a goal will be scored in both halves or not, choose the exact final score in each match and plenty of other markets to wager on. You can often find good odds on outcomes that are highly plausible.
