What a week last week was. It started off great with my outsiders, Collingwood and Sydney both coming in at good odds, but then Port upset the injury ravaged Hawks who never looked like themselves.
My tip for St Kilda to beat the line never looked in doubt, restricting the hapless Dockers to just 4 goals for the game and Geelong ended up comfortably beating the Crows at AAMI stadium, mostly due to Gary Ablett’s certain 3 point Brownlow effort with 46 disposals.. After this though, things went quite pear-shaped.
North Melbourne defeated the Bombers, Melbourne got their first win of the year against a struggling Richmond side and in a major upset, the Eagles comfortably disposed of the Bulldogs. I knew it was going to be a tough round to tip, which meant there was good value on offer, but I didn’t expect so many upsets. If you followed my bets, you would have still come out well on top.

On to this week, and the odds for the first game look very juicy. The Saints are up and about and should be too strong for Port Adelaide. Port do have a good home-ground record against the Saints, but they’ve only beaten Essendon, Melbourne and the under-manned Hawks this year. I’m tipping St Kilda with confidence, it looks like an easy opportunity to double your money on this game. The rest of the games look pretty straightforward, I doubt we will see so many upsets this week. Carlton are a chance to beat the Dogs, having beaten them in their last two outings, but I would like better odds than $2 which IAS is offering at the moment, although betting is suspended.
