First Results of the 2006 NAB Cup
Brisbane Lions 1.8.13 (70) defeated Essendon 1.8.12 (69) in a thrilling one point game that was drawn until the final four seconds of play. The Lions just managed to sneak in the win, Essondon appeared to have the game won at the end of the third, but Brisbane proved they still have what it takes to come back from behind, and take the game away.
Melbourne 0.9.15 (69) came home in front of the Western Bulldogs 1.7.12 (63) in another very close match on Friday night. The scores were tied until the third last minute, when Russell Robertson scored a goal to put the Demons in front. Thunderstorms throughout the day made it a diffiicult game of Footy, unfortunately the Bulldogs couldn’t quite get it right on the night, although they did have their chances.
