2015 NRL Grand Final Premiership Betting

The 2015 NRL Grand Final will be played on Sunday October 4th, 2015. Round 1 of the 2015 NRL Premiership season begins tonight when the Brisbane Broncos take on the South Sydney Rabbitohs at 8:05 PM. I’ve listed the current best odds for the Grand Final winner below. I often find it interesting to look back during the season to see what odds were available during the preseason for various teams. A lot can change in a year of football.

As a general rule with all sports including the National Rugby League, the earlier in the season you place your bets on who you think will win the Grand Final, the better the odds you’ll receive.

Best odds for the favourites during the preseason

Currently, before any games of the 2015 NRL Premiership season begins Bet Easy and William Hill Australia have the best odds for the current favourite and last years premiers, South Sydney Rabbitohs at about $6. The Sydney Roosters aren’t far behind with most bookmakers paying between $6 and $6.50, LuxBet Australia is currently offering $6.75 for the Roosters to win this years Grand Final.

Rounding out the top 5 are the Canterbury Bulldogs, the Penrith Panthers and the North Queensland Cowboys who are all paying between $7 and $11.

Sixth favourite, the Brisbane Broncos are the only other team with single figure odds and most punters and bookies think the winner will come from this group of teams, however it’s a long season and a lot can change in a year.

2014 NRL Dally M Medal Betting Odds

My Tips for the Dally M Medal Winner

It will come as no surprise to NRL fans that the 24 year old blond-haired Manly Sea Eagles Halfback Daly Cherry-Evans is one of the favourites to take out the 2014 Dally M Medal after coming runner-up in 2013 to Cooper Cronk. Cherry-Evans won the Clive Churchill Medal in the 2013 NRL Grand Final, even though his team Manly lost to the Roosters. Winning man-of-the-match in a losing side is no easy feat and 9 times out of 10, the medal is given to a player on the winning side. After a breakout 2013 season, Daly looks set to cement himself as one of the best Halfbacks in the league and one of the most influential players in the game in only his fourth season.

Last year’s RLIF International Fullback of the Year and Provan-Summons Medal (fans’ choice award) winner Greg Inglis is another NRL player with short odds to take home the Dally M Medal, unfortunately a knee injury that sidelined him for several weeks from Round 19 to 22 didn’t help his chances last year, however I think he has a good chance in 2014.

Of course on talent alone, you can’t discount the 2013 Dally M Medal winner Cooper Cronk. However, the odds are stacked against him after having shoulder surgery before the 2014 season begins may mean he misses the first few weeks of the NRL season. If he does manage to poll the most votes this year and win again, it will be the first time a player has won back-to-back Dally M Medals since NRL legend, multiple Golden Boot Award winner and the winner of three Dally M Medals, Andrew Johns who received the most Dally M votes in the 1998 and 1999 NRL Premiership seasons while captain of Newcastle.

There are plenty of other good Dally M medalist contenders which is great if you’re searching for value, there are even some long-shots that have a chance at polling plenty of votes and ending the Dally M count with the highest vote tally. One of my free tips for finding that diamond in the rough is watching the younger players who are maturing and winning more votes each year. Also look for positional changes and retirements or trades to see if there’s a player with a new role that may be a catalyst for earning more votes. Another tip for finding “roughies” for the Dally M is picking the year a player “breaks out” and joins the elite players of the National Rugby League competition, you will be rewarded with some very juicy odds and even bigger bragging rights.

2012 NRL Premiership Betting Odds

According to punters and Aussie bookmakers, the 2012 NRL betting season looks set to be very close, with no clear favourite to win the 2012 Premiership Trophy.

The first match kicks off on the 1st of March at 7:30pm, when the Newcastle Knights take on St. George Illawarra Dragons at Ausgrid Stadium.

2011 Premiers Manly Sea Eagles are not the outright favourites, punters prefer Wests Tigers to win the 2012 NRL Grand Final and also think Melbourne Storm, New Zealand Warriors and Newcastle Knights are all worthy of single figure odds. It’s going to be an exciting year for rugby league fans, and I can’t wait for the 2012 season to begin.

Here are the current best odds available for the 2012 NRL Grand Final winners from my favourite online bookies.

$2 Lines on AFL & NRL Finals

One of my favourite new online bookmakers is LuxBet, who not only offer a $100 FREE BET for new clients, but they’ve just let me know they’re giving punters a new exclusive betting option called LuxLine. LuxLines pay an astonishing $2 for all line bets throughout the AFL & NRL finals series when you bet up to $250. This is a great way to double your money. The only slight catch is the lines open 1 hour before kickoff, but still, $2 lines. I’m impressed.
